Blog vs Wiki

Blogs and wikis are media that enable communication of information by a person or group followed by feedback. Blogs provide feedback in the form of comments, while wikis allow users to edit and change content of the page. Blogs are less susceptible to internet predators and controllable, while wikis are easily vulnerable to internet predators without proper media control. Blogs allow you to see who sent what and when due to a few people adding to the blog in reverse chronological order. On the other hand, wikis are harder to track and maintain due to the multiplicity of people editing with full capability. Wikis have a greater even collaboration and a greater sense of community with decentralized control.

  1. This is an interesting project and I would not have thought to do it on this. Smartphones makes human interaction easier. We become more in-tune to other's ideas and we learn about cultural differences. The hope is to move away from ignorance and move to an age of acceptance.

  2. I think that unlike wikis, blogs are more prone to spread of misinformation. Given the fact that many collaborate on wikis, the idea of checks and balances comes into play. A decentralized control of information allows information to be less biased in my opinion. Blogs on the other hand can be more predatory as they can promote false info that is not checked by others.
